"Do I really have to go?" Wednesday complained again, sitting on the king-size bed with her arms crossed as she watched Enid put on makeup.

"No, but you love me." Enid replied cheerfully while applying mascara. "And you said you'd go to the pride parade this year."

"Ridiculous. I wouldn't be that stupid."

"Sorry to tell you, but..." Enid finished applying mascara and started on her eyeliner. "Last year, when I asked you to go with me, you refused and said you'd go this year because you needed a lot of time to prepare."

"But it was so little time..." Wednesday muttered quietly.

"It's not my fault you have a bad memory, Wends."

"My memory is impeccable."

"Sure, of course." Enid laughed to herself, rolling her eyes.

Wednesday followed suit and rolled her eyes too, mentally cursing herself for agreeing to this. She was really doing it just for Enid, and she was nervous. The Addams family was very open about sexuality and gender, so she didn't know being LGBT was such a shocking thing to the world.

Of course, she knew about the news of queer people being killed, but only realized it was a daily reality when she started dating Enid three years ago and saw the fear her girlfriend had of coming out to her parents.

Now, already out and disowned by her family, Enid was as happy as could be. Sure, sometimes she got too thoughtful, often cried at night missing her family, but she was okay. Her older brother occasionally sent messages asking if she was okay, but that was all.

Wednesday and the Addams were Enid's only family now, and the insecure blonde feared the goth might one day decide to break up with her and she'd be left alone. Deep down in her mind, she knew if that happened, her days would be numbered.

"Wednesday." Enid called, making the goth look at her and see that she had finished her makeup, including a small lesbian flag on her cheek. "You know you don't have to go if you don't want to, right?"

"I know, mi vida." Wednesday stood up, walked to Enid, and turned her around in the chair to face the mirror, hugging her neck. "You look beautiful."

"Don't change the subject." Enid muttered. "Do you want to go?"

"You know I never want anything but you."

"Okay, let me rephrase. Would you like to go with me?"

"Always."

"Will you feel uncomfortable?"

"Same answer."

"Wednesday..." Enid whined, turning to face her girlfriend. "It's okay if you want to stay in the dorm."

"No, Enid, I keep my promises. And as you said yourself, I'll do this because I love you. You're the reason I live and you make many sacrifices for me, I can do this for you too. I can endure a small crowd of colorful people."

"You're one of those colorful people too." Enid smiled, but Wednesday grimaced at that. "On the inside, of course."

"You'd be surprised to know that my organs are as black as the darkness itself." The goth moved away, heading towards the bedroom door.

"Alright, Wends." Enid rolled her eyes at the joke, but stopped smiling when she got no response. "Wait, seriously?"

Wednesday just gave a slight smile in response, opening the door and leaving.

Enid was skipping and smiling at everything around her, happy to be there and especially because her partner was with her. This partner, who was reluctantly wearing Enid's pink noise-canceling headphones.

Wednesday secretly appreciated the gesture and the silence, but still hated wearing that pink thing on her head. Suddenly, a tall and thin boy came running towards them, followed by two girls. He stopped in front of them, a huge smile on his face.

"Oh. My. God. Goth lesbian and pink lesbian!" he shouted, and Wednesday grimaced, even though she couldn't really hear.

"That's us!" Enid shouted back and smiled, pulling the boy into a jumping hug. Wednesday had no idea how Enid made friends so easily.

"You two are so cute! Can we take a picture with you?" one of the girls, dressed like a walking rainbow, asked. Enid turned to her girlfriend and, knowing she shouldn't remove the headphones, quickly thought of another strategy.

"They want to take a picture with us, is that okay?" She signed in ASL, leaving the others confused.

Wednesday just nodded in response, and Enid gave the green light. The boy, being taller, took the front of the selfie, while Enid and Wednesday stood in the back, the blonde using her body as a shield to prevent any of the girls from bumping into her.

While they chatted and followed each other on Instagram, Wednesday looked around, almost blind by the colors, until something caught her attention. A booth with an androgynous person, with various flags of different colors, sizes, and formats. She remembered something Enid had mentioned a few weeks ago, something about wanting to buy a lesbian flag and being out of money for it.

Wednesday turned to Enid and, seeing she was distracted, began walking towards the booth. She had to pass by some people who bumped into her, but she was doing it for Enid, so she controlled herself not to kill any of them.

"Hello, vendor." Wednesday said as she approached the booth, removing her headphones and startling the poor vendor who screamed.

"Jesus Christ! Hello, customer." he smiled, and by his teeth, she knew he was a vampire.

"Bold of you to think I'm a customer."

"Well, why else would you come to my booth?"

"Maybe to ask for information."

"And what information would that be, customer?"

"Which one is the lesbian flag?" she asked and crossed her arms, looking back.

She got a little worried when she couldn't see Enid.

"I have these two." The vendor picked up two sealed transparent bags with folded flags inside. "This one is smaller, this one is larger."

Wednesday didn't need to think much before making her choice.

Meanwhile, Enid was almost panicking.

"How could I lose the only person dressed in black in a place full of colorful people?" she lamented, running her hand through her hair.

"She can't be far. I mean, she was near us and, no offense, her legs are pretty short." The boy from before, Hayden, spoke up, using his height to try to spot a black dot in that sea of rainbows.

"Damn Wednesday and her desire to explore the unknown alone." Enid muttered, sniffing the air and trying to find her girlfriend's scent. "I knew this was a terrible idea. She hates crowds, hates noise, and is allergic to colors!"

"She's allergic to colors?" Angelina asked, looking shocked.

"She's allergic to most dyes!" Enid whined, closing her eyes and letting her shoulders drop.

"Apparently, I'm not allergic to the dyes in this pink and orange thing." Wednesday's voice was heard, and Enid opened her eyes immediately, looking at her. "Did you really think I would just abandon you in the middle of all these queers? Imagine if one of them decided to kiss you thinking you are a silly single lesbian?"

"Wednesday!" Enid grabbed her shoulders, noticing she had a lesbian flag tied around her neck like a superhero cape. "What happened? I leave you alone for five minutes, and you reveal yourself as Super-Lesbian?"

"Enid, for the love of Lucifer." Wednesday sighed and put her hand on her face. "I bought this for you because you said you wanted one a few weeks ago. But that vendor convinced me to wear it around my neck..."

"You look beautiful, as always." Enid grabbed her girlfriend's face with her hands, giving her a long kiss.

"Aww, who would have thought that behind a goth with no expressions there's a big softie." Angelina said, and the girls separated, Enid feeling Wednesday move her hand behind her, probably to grab one of her hidden knives.

"She's more lovable than she seems." Enid smiled at the girl, slyly grabbing Wednesday's arm and pulling it away from the knife.

"You're terrible, Enid. Absolutely terrible." The goth huffed, resting her head on her clavicle.

"She meant to say she loves me."

"Probably."

Enid laughed, hugging Wednesday by the neck and sighing at her scent. Both knew they wanted to stay together forever at that moment, regardless of how many lives they lived, almost like soulmates. And before Enid could stop herself, she found herself asking.

"Will you marry me?"

Everyone present widened their eyes, including Enid herself, who was shocked by what her own brain had made her say.

"What?" Wednesday asked softly, in disbelief at what she had just heard. Enid slowly moved away from her, thinking and gathering courage.

She held Wednesday's hands as she stepped back, looking directly into her eyes, and knelt.

"I don't have a ring because I didn't plan any of this, I don't even know where this came from, but I know it's genuine, babe. Will you marry me?" Enid asked again, and everything around seemed to freeze, a world where only they existed.

"You know you don't need to ask, Cucciola." Wednesday replied, allowing herself to smile even in the middle of so many people, and Enid stood up to kiss her.

Cheers and applause were heard from everyone around, including Hayden and his friends. They separated when Wednesday seemed really uncomfortable with the noise, so Enid slid the headphones back over her ears and kissed her forehead.

"You know we're still in college, right?" Wednesday signed.

"We have a little over a year to finish it, and we already live in our own apartment, we have time." Enid replied, smiling as Wednesday rolled her eyes and intertwined their arms.

Later that day, at night, Enid was chatting with Hayden on Instagram when he sent her a blog post about the day's pride parade.

"Wednesday." Enid called, receiving a murmur in response from the sleepy girl lying next to her in bed. "We're on the cover of a blog post."

"What?!" The goth immediately sat up, scowling as Enid laughed hysterically. "If I had stabbed you when I had the chance..."

"It says here: 'Wednesday Addams, author of Viper de la Muerte, was seen kissing another woman at the pride parade. According to an anonymous source, the woman is Enid Sinclair, Wednesday's recent fiancée.' It also mentions that you're a very private person, despite being a well-known writer, and have been seen with me a few times."

"It's none of their business. Why would they write an article about me kissing my fiancée?" Wednesday huffed, lying back down.

"Money, love, the world is driven by money and gossip." Enid replied, putting down her phone and lying next to her beloved. "They're idiots, but it's part of being a known person. Just wait until the second book comes out and they discover that Viper and Susan become girlfriends."

Wednesday laughed at this, kissing Enid's cheek and snuggling into her to sleep. Through it all, they knew that no one could say anything that would affect their relationship. And Enid was really excited to start planning the pink wedding decorations.

Oh, Wednesday is going to hate every second of it.
