The By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Concealer retails for $45.00 USD and is available at By Terry and other retailers. This concealer is packaged in a click-pen brush tip format, which isn't the most hygienic but it is very convenient and great for on-the-go application. The brush tip is a flat medium-sized brush, between a concealer brush and a foundation brush. The bottom of the pen-like packaging has a button used to click up the concealer and filling the brush.

This is always tricky packaging because you can't tell how much one click will click up, especially when you first use it. I found that this click mechanism doesn't take many clicks to get started up so, be very careful about clicking too many times initially. The product will come out slowly but if you click too many times, a lot of product will come out.

The brush is wide and flat, which I haven't seen with many products in this format. The advantage of using a brush with this shape is it spreads this liquid concealer very evenly across the skin without sheering out. This brush works very much like a paintbrush that packs on the pigment. It can be used to blend but I don't think it's ideal. I prefer to apply with the brush and then, blend with my fingers.

SHADES

There are currently 6 shades available, which is a limited shade range but many brands will expand their shade range as popularity for their product grows. There is a fairly large gap in between the shades in this range. While the shades are fairly forgiving, especially when used under the eyes, I really hope they will consider adding shade to this collection. I have three shades:

200 Natural - This shade is a light cream with a subtle yellow undertone. This is a very fair shade that will work as an all-over concealer on a fair skin tone but a great under-eye brightening concealer for medium skin tone, like mine. The shade is very brightening and lifting.

300 Medium Fair - This shade is a medium golden shade with a yellow undertone. This shade is suitable for medium skin tones with a warm undertone. This shade suits my skin tone well for covering up redness and imperfections. The yellow undertone is great for correcting redness on the skin.

400 Medium - This shade is a warm golden tan shade with a warm peachy undertone. This shade is a great color for a tan skin tone as an all-over concealer. The warm peachy undertone is great for correcting shadows on the skin.

FORMULA

This formula is a runny liquid, like a runnier version of a liquid foundation. The liquid concealer is very pigmented and you don't need much to achieve full coverage. This concealer covers everything from dark circles to even dark acne scars. While the coverage is full, it still looks incredibly natural and blends into the skin seamlessly. This runny liquid just melts into the skin and becomes a part of the skin, instead of sitting on top or sinking into lines on the skin. The wonderfully light texture of this formula doesn't sink into fine lines, which is ideal for around the eyes where we all have creases and lines.

What I love about this formula is that soft matte finish because I don't have to set the concealer if I don't want to. I'm not a huge fan of using powder daily because I love my glow but I usually have to set the concealer under my eyes because wet concealer tends to sink into fine line and it also makes my mascara smudgy. This formula is so nice because it sets down to such a natural finish but because it is a hydrating formula infused with hyaluronic acid, so it doesn't ever look dry, heavy, or cakey under the eyes. This concealer always looks smooth, even, and flawless on the skin.

Hyaluronic acid also plays a big role in the wear of this formula. The hyaluronic acid allows this concealer to stretch and move with the skin, it never cracks or creases. Once it sets, there is little to no transfer with this concealer. The wear time on this formula is fantastic. Without setting powder, I'm able to wear this concealer long past 8 hours and I experience no fading.

THE LOOK

I'm wearing the 200 Natural under my eyes in this look and it really helps brighten and conceal mu darkness but you can see it just looks like my skin.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I've always been a fan of a brightening concealer pen and this formula is very different from ones I have tried before. This one has much more coverage and the consistency doesn't crease on the skin. Plus, the inclusion of hyaluronic acid makes this formula far superior to other concealer formulas! This concealer acts like skin because it has skincare infused in it! It moves with the skin and this flexibility prevents it from cracking and creasing on the skin. This is very impressive for how much coverage this formula offers! This formula is very unique for it's soft matte finish because it never looks heavy on the skin.

This lightweight formula glides on the skin and fuses with it, instead of sitting on top or sinking in. It really is a beautiful and luxurious formula! I would like to see more shades from the brand because I don't think there are enough shades to cover all skin tones but the shades that are available are fairly versatile. This concealer has become a staple in my routine these days because it covers so well that I don't feel the need to apply a foundation or base all over. I highly recommend this formula for all skin types! I have dry skin and normally I would avoid anything with a matte finish but due to the inclusion of the hyaluronic acid, I can wear this formula without it crusting on my skin! It looks so natural on the skin, no one would guess you have makeup on!
