What is personal possessions insurance?

It covers your everyday belongings against accidental loss or damage in and outside the home. This includes mobile phones, laptops, clothing, cash, jewellery, musical instruments and sports equipment.

It's an optional add-on that you can buy with, or add to, yourcontents insurancepolicy. You'll need to contact us to upgrade your existing policy with us.

Away from home cover

Cover your belongings against loss or accidental damage when you're in or away from yourhome in the UK.

Overseas cover

We'll cover your belongings against loss or accidental damage for up to 90 days abroad.

Unspecified item cover

We’ll cover your unspecified items, from phones to bikes, worth under £2,000 each up to your chosen limit. You can choose a total cover amount of up to £15,000 for unspecified items.

You'll need to tell us about any items worth over £2,000.

Cover for bicycles away from home

If you addpersonal possessionsto yourhome insurance, we'll cover bikes worth under £2,000 up to your chosen limit.

You'll need to tell us about any bikes worth over £2,000 that you take away from home.

Bike accessories, like lights and helmets, are covered too.

What does personal possessions cover?

Personal possessions covers unspecified items up to your chosen limit. The limit spans from a minimum of £500, up to a maximum of £15,000.

You’ll need to tell us about any individual items worth over £2,000. We can then specify these when you get a home insurance quote with us.

  • Domestic home appliances, like fridges and cookers
  • If your home has been left unoccupied for 90 days or more
