Destiny 2's latest expansion, The Final Shape, has been universally deemed the greatest expansion in the history of Destiny as it brings the overarching narrative that began 10 years ago to a satisfying conclusion in a fight against the Witness. Although the Witness has finally been defeated, there is still plenty in store for Destiny 2, beginning with the first of its episodes, Echoes. In Echoes, players will face a new enemy and a unique Vex threat as they seek out the Traveler's first echo on Nessus. Along with a brand-new addition to the Destiny 2 narrative, Echoes adds several new features.
The first echo that players will be seeking out in Destiny 2's Echoes episode has landed on Nessus and transformed it into a darker, more twisted version of itself. Meanwhile, the Vex on the planet's surface have begun acting very strangely, apparently driven by some other force. Aside from the narrative that will explain these events, this is where one of the biggest features of the Echoes episode comes into play — a three-player arena-based activity called "Breach Executable." Breach Executable is unlike any activity Destiny 2 has ever seen, so players should be able to check one more item off their wish list.

Destiny 2 Episode: Echoes' Breach Executable Activity Explained
As it once was with every season of Destiny 2, its episodes will include a new activity for players to complete that will somehow tie into each story. Echoes' activity, Breach Executable, is an arena-style offensive against the Vex that takes place on Nessus' transforming surface, and it is different from anything Destiny 2 has ever done. There have been what could be considered arena-based activities in Destiny before, like the Prison of Elders and Escalation Protocol, but none have been quite like this.
The Breach Executable activity is a three-player activity that sees players gathering data on Nessus for Failsafe to study, hopefully eventually revealing what is happening with the Vex on the planet's surface. The activity begins with players destroying several Gestating Radiolaria Pods using a buff they acquire after defeating the Nursery Cyclopes in the area. Once the pods are destroyed, they drop several motes of Extracted Data that players can then deposit into Failsafe's Data Array. Depositing data is one of the activity's side objectives, as it isn't required for progress.
If players manage to destroy all the pods within five minutes, they move on to the next phase of the activity.
The next phase of the Breach Executable activity takes players to a lower level where they must work together to capture different zones where geysers of Radiolaria form, all within five minutes. After capturing three zones, players are then tasked with eliminating Flow Directors, who are simply powerful Hydra. After repeating this process twice more, players return to the upper level and make their way to a different arena for the final phase.
Unlike the first two phases, the final phase is very challenging. Here, players encounter three different groups of Vex Hydra, two of which share a boss health bar. They are then required to eliminate the Hydra, all while fending off multiple combatants on the side and depositing Extracted Data if they choose to. Players complete the activity once these Hydra are defeated.
Destiny 2 Episode: Echoes' Breach Executable Activity Is a Breath of Fresh Air
While Destiny 2 has had many different activities over the years, Breach Executable is a standout addition. This is primarily due to its diverse objectives, arena-style progression and layout, and brevity. Many of Destiny 2's more recent activities have taken players far too long to complete, like Into the Light's Onslaught mode, which can take upwards of an hour. Thankfully, Breach Executable provides a decent challenge while simultaneously not requiring much time to complete.
