Destiny 2 Prismatic Titan Builds, Guides, and What We Know So Far (2024)

How to Play Prismatic Titan in Destiny 2

With the release of The Final Shape, Destiny 2 will undergo a massive change. One of the most incredible features being added to Destiny 2 is the Prismatic subclass.

By infusing abilities from the Light and Dark subclasses, Guardians will no longer be bound by the constraints of opposing elemental forces and can forge hybrid loadouts.

In the sections below, we’ll dive deep into the details of the Prismatic Titan subclass and offer build concepts to help Guardians on their journey as they charge into Destiny 2’s next chapter.

The Prismatic subclass offers a powerful new weapon in shaping what’s to come.

Prismatic Titan Fragments

The Prismatic Titan is the next evolution for Guardians in Destiny 2, as Titans can now break the Light/Dark subclass barrier.

At the foundation of this new system are Prismatic Fragments, a collection of 21 powerful abilities that can be mixed and matched to allow Titans to create a completely personalized playstyle for any and every encounter.

Want to be a raging inferno of solar-based destruction? A hulking pillar of void-imbued strength? It’s in your hands with Prismatic Fragments and the new subclass system in Destiny 2.

Prismatic Titan Supers

Destiny 2’s Prismatic Subclasses offer a bold new frontier of customization and utility that allows all classes to break the barrier between Light and Dark. Still, nothing can truly beat the all-powerful Titan.

Boasting some of the most ridiculous combo potential in the game, these hulking Guardians can now tap into five incredible Supers that make them the master of all. Whether it be exceptionally overpowered offensive abilities, impenetrable defense, or unstoppable ‘I can take anything you throw at me’ utility, the Titans are going to wreck shop thanks to the limitless creative output the Prismatic system brings to the table.

One of two Supers you’ll be able to equip as soon as you unlock Prismatic for your Titan is the classic Thundercrash. Thundercrash will continue to shine in PvE and PvP alike going into The Final Shape and is still a solid option.

The other Super you’ll be able to use from the beginning is Bladefury. Without Banner of War, it is hard to determine how viable Bladefury will be, but don’t count it out yet!

Another Super you can unlock for Prismatic Titan is Hammer of Sol. With Hammer of Sol being one of the only ranged Titan Supers, running this super somewhat frequently will be optimal.

Regarding Stasis, Titans still only have one Super: Glacial Quake. It will still cause severe damage and will be helpful in certain PvE activities. Couple this super with Facet of Ruin for even more damage!

Finally, we have the new Titan Super, Twilight Arsenal. Having access to this super on Prismatic Titan is incredible, as it looks to be one of the best Titan Supers we’ve seen yet.

When activated, you’ll be able to throw three large Void axes. These axes will stick into whatever they contact before exploding and weakening everything around them. They can then be picked up and wielded by yourself and your teammates!

Prismatic Titan Aspects

Before I go over the Aspects Prismatic Titans have at their disposal, there is a crucial piece of information you all need to be aware of. All Prismatic Aspects will now work with other subclass keywords. For example, Diamond Lance will proc on any ability kill, not just Stasis kills!

Knockout is one of two Prismatic Titan Aspects you can equip at the start of the campaign. Plenty of Titan builds are melee-centric, so this was a fantastic choice to be a Prismatic Aspect. Knockout is also getting a slight rework in the coming season. The PvE powered melee damage buff will be raised from 25% to 50%. Knockout will no longer trigger health regeneration but will instead restore chunks of health depending on the type of target defeated.

The other early-game option you’ll have access to is Diamond Lance. Diamond Lance will trigger on any ability kill, which will see noticeably more use with Prismatic.

An Aspect that seems to have fallen out of the spotlight will be returning with Prismatic Titan: Drengr’s Lash. The in-game text for Drengr’s Lash states that your class ability activates it. If this works with the Thruster class ability, it will be worth using almost anywhere.

The next Aspect is a personal favorite of mine: Consecration. Consecration has seen more use recently with the addition of Pyrogale Gauntlets but will be utilized even more in the coming season thanks to Prismatic. Consecration will work with Frenzied Blade, meaning you can use three consecutive Consecration slams back to back!

Lastly, the new Void Titan Aspect: Unbreakable. This new Aspect will allow you to consume your grenade and create a shield that blocks incoming damage and absorbs energy from those attacks. The absorbed energy can then be released into a massive attack with the shield. You also gain a Void Overshield when charging the shield.

Prismatic Titan Abilities

Class Abilities (All are available immediately)

When you first unlock the Prismatic subclass, you’ll be able to equip all of the current Titan class abilities: Towering Barricade, Rally Barricade, and Thruster.

Melee Abilities

To start things off, we have Frenzied Blade. You’ll be able to use this ability as soon as you can access Prismatic. This has always been a solid Titan melee choice, but with Consecration being a Prismatic Titan Aspect, it will be even better!

The other immediately available melee ability is Thunderclap. Thunderclap deals massive damage and will be even better with the upcoming buff. At launch, you will receive less damage and deal more damage when using Thunderclap!

Everyone is upset that the good ‘ol bonk hammer won’t be usable with Prismatic, but don’t forget about Hammer Strike! Hammer Strike causes ignitions and is fantastic for add-clear!

Shield Throw will be another of the five Prismatic melee abilities, and it is also receiving a significant buff in The Final Shape. Your shield will bounce more, won’t disappear as soon, will track targets better, and will do 20% more damage in PvE.

The Final melee you can use on Prismatic Titan is Shiver Strike. Shiver Strike was previously a subpar ability, but it will now be much more viable due to the buffs it will receive. Shiver Strike will be getting a 10% PvE damage buff and a massive boost to its tracking!

Grenade Abilities

The Shackle Grenade is one of five grenade abilities you can equip as soon you have Prismatic for your Titan. On-demand Suspensions always shine in PvE content. This will be a top choice for many players.

The other option for the beginning of The Finals Shape’s campaign is Pulse Grenade. Pulse Grenades have always been an Arc staple and will see plenty of use on Prismatic Titans due to their ability to jolt enemies with Facet of Dominance.

One grenade you’ll have access to that I highly recommend you bring into The Final Shape story is the Suppressor Grenade. New enemies can suspend and freeze you; suppressing them is the best way to counter that!

The favorite of Stasis Titans is the Glacier Grenade, which will also be an option. These can cause plenty of Shatter damage or simply be thrown at your feet to shield you for a few moments.

The last grenade to use is the Thermite Grenade. If used correctly, this grenade can apply a metric ton of Scorch stacks, which pairs well with Ignition builds!

Prismatic Titan Transcendence

With The Final Shape comes Transcendence, a groundbreaking new feature that introduces two meters above your Super meter while using Prismatic. It fills when you deal Light or Darkness damage and debuffs, or with Kinetic damage, which fills both bars simultaneously.

Once both are full, you can Transcend, granting access to a unique grenade dealing Light and Darkness damage (the Electrified Snare for Titans, unleashing a suspending burst that traps enemies, dealing heavy damage over time as jolting chain lightning courses through them).

It also adds significant increases to grenade and melee recharge rates. a stackable weapon damage buff, further grenade recharge from melee damage and vice versa, and a damage reduction.
